Calculator, Production Planner & Ratios

StarRupture Calculator & Production Planner

Use this current live-baseline tool when the real question is machine counts, MW power draw, recursive chain math, ratios, or whether a target IPM fits your current factory. Most star rupture calculator, build planner, production planner, and factory planner searches want the interactive tool first, not a long guide.

Update 2 is live. Fabricator v.2 and Furnace v.2 use the wiki tables checked on 2026-10-10. Switch the recipe set to compare them with the previous verified recipes. Other machines stay on that previous set until a current table exists. Latest checked hotfix: 0.3.5.

Calculator Fast Answers

Most star rupture calculator, star rupture production planner, and starrupture build planner searches really want one of a few immediate paths. Use the fastest route below before you start reading longer explanations.

Need ratios or round-up checks?

Jump into the interactive planner first when the real job is machine counts, recursive chain math, decimal machine counts, or total MW power. If you only need a quick refresher on ratio logic, use the ratios guide first.

Open production ratios
Need the recipe list or recipe finder?

Use the database for pure recipe lookups, item dependencies, and quick “what crafts this” answers. Come back to the calculator when you need full chain math.

Open the recipe list
Need power or machine unlock context?

Open the machine database or power-scaling guide when your bottleneck is not the math itself but the live unlock path behind it.

Need map or blueprint routes first?

If your calculator question is really about missing Helium-3, a blueprint unlock, or where to expand next, branch into the route pages before you overspec the factory.

Interactive Calculator & Factory Planner

Run the live calculator first for machine counts, power, raw materials, and recursive chain checks.

Loading Calculator

The interactive calculator loads after the page is ready. You can still use the sections below to learn IPM planning, machine ratios, power budgeting, and where to jump next if you really needed the recipe list or recipe finder first.

Use this page as the calculator and production planner. For a pure recipe list or recipe finder answer, jump into the item database first, then come back when you need chain math.

How to Use the Production Calculator

1
Select your target item

Use the search dropdown to find any craftable item — Electronics, Rotors, Standard Ammo, Chemicals, and all 80+ recipe items are supported. Type to filter instantly.

2
Set your target production rate (IPM)

Enter how many items per minute (IPM) you need. If you are planning for a delivery deadline or factory expansion, try a baseline rate first, then raise or lower it until the machine count and raw-input load fit your current setup.

3
Read the machine breakdown

The calculator recursively resolves the full production chain. For Electronics, it will show you how many Fabricators, Smelters, Ore Excavators, and Wire Drawing Machines you need — all the way down to raw ore.

4
Check total power draw (MW)

The right column shows total MW consumption across your entire production chain. Compare this against your available generation before building, especially when you start stacking multiple extractors, fabricators, and late-game processing machines.

5
Review raw material totals

At the bottom, the raw materials summary lists every ore, gas, or base resource required per minute. Use this to validate your Ore Excavator count — a common mismatch is running too few Titanium excavators for an Electronics line.

6
Adjust and iterate

Change the IPM value to model different scales. Many players start with a 1 IPM baseline and multiply: 5× for a delivery push, 10× for a full automation run. The calculator updates instantly with no page reload.

Pro tip: Ammo chains often look simple until sulfur processing and powder inputs are included. Run the full recursive chain before building so you do not under-size the upstream factory.

What is the Production Calculator?

The Production Calculator is a sophisticated planning tool designed specifically for StarRupture players who want to optimize their space factory operations and eliminate production bottlenecks.

Chain Analysis
Automatically traces back through your entire production chain, calculating requirements for every intermediate item and raw material needed to achieve your target output rate.
Precision Planning
Get exact machine counts, power consumption figures, and material throughput rates based on real game data. No more guesswork or trial-and-error factory layouts.
